Cambridge Archaeology Field Group
C.A.F.G is an amateur society. It's activities relate to archaeology in the Cambridge area.
- Fieldwalking
- is done during Autumn to spring on Sunday mornings.
- Excavations
- generally from spring to Autumn at weekends and sometimes during the week.
- Processing and analysis
- The Group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm for processing and analysis of field work at the Cambridgeshire C.C. Archaeology Field Unit, at 15 Trafalgar Way, Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire CB3 8SQ. Bar Hill is about 6 mile north of Cambridge just off the A14.
- Talks
- are also given every month generally by staff of University or County Council Archaeology Departments, from September to May at the Dept of Archaeology, Downing St, Cambridge (through archway turn right to corner of building, then on 1st floor on right), usually the first Wednesday of month (contact our Secretary below for details). Parking is available on the Downing St site entrance from Tennis Court Rd, if barrier is down call security on the intercom.
